PURCHASE, N.Y., Jan. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- MasterCard Worldwide announced today that it will waive interchange fees on Haitian relief donations that are made using U.S. issued MasterCard cards to the following organizations: The American Red Cross, AmeriCares, UNICEF, Save the Children and CARE USA. "Americans are opening their hearts to help the victims of this terrible tragedy, and we want to ensure that their contributions go as far as possible," said Chris McWilton, president, U.S. Markets, MasterCard Worldwide.
In addition, MasterCard has also made a corporate donation to the American Red Cross and is double-matching employee contributions to the Haitian disaster relief fund of the American Red Cross.
